Public leisure infrastructure - interdisciplinary research - process design
During a 4 day interdisciplinary research master class organized by POOL IS COOL for the BWMSTR LABEL, participants are challenged to rethink and sketch different organization structures and development strategies that can bring about innovative models for public open air swimming facilities that consider not only spatial and infrastructural requirements but also social and governance needs and financial and management demands. The introduction of a public amenity of the scale of an outdoor swimming infrastructure in the city is not only a challenge in designing and spatially integrating an infrastructure in a complex urban context. From 27th to 30th of March 2018, you will be developing integrated models for leisure infrastructure together with master students and young practitioners active in the fields of landscape architecture, urban planning, social studies, economics and management, guided by experienced professionals from different fields.
